This post is part of a series, A Beginner’s Guide to Veganism, meant to introduce new or interested vegans to the lifestyle. Here we will talk about the best vegan resources that used evidence backed research and study to guide you through your journey to plant-based living and show you the benefits of veganism.
In the previous post, How to Go Vegan, I emphasized the importance of  securing your reasoning behind going vegan before actually making the dietary and lifestyle changes.
These resources all show the benefits of veganism and have been instrumental in my decision to go vegan. I hope they enlighten you as well!
I categorized the resources by the main categories they fall under (health, environment/animal rights) as those tend to be the main categories that draw one to veganism.

Mad Cowboy: Plain Truth from the Cattle Rancher Who Won't Eat Meat Mad Cowboy: Plain Truth from the Cattle Rancher Who Won’t Eat Meat

Howard Lyman’s testimony on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” revealed the deadly impact of the livestock industry on our well-being. It not only led to Oprah’s declaration that she’d never eat a burger again, it sent shock waves through a concerned and vulnerable public.

A fourth-generation Montana rancher, Lyman investigated the use of chemicals in agriculture after developing a spinal tumor that nearly paralyzed him. Now a vegetarian, he blasts through the propaganda of beef and dairy interests — and the government agencies that protect them — to expose an animal-based diet as the primary cause of cancer, heart disease, and obesity in this country.
