Sometimes you’ve got to fuel those gains on the go.

It’s all too easy to grab a carb rich snack- they’re all over! Crackers, cookies, and candy are abundant in gas stations and quick stops. Healthy high protein snacks? Yeah, not so much. VEGAN high protein snacks? Those are seemingly impossible to find!

I see tons of gym-goers carrying snacks like cottage cheese, turkey and cheese rolls, and whey filled protein bars as their on the go high protein snacks…. but let’s be honest. Those aren’t healthy!

I wanted to show y’all some of the BEST tasting  vegan high protein snacks that you can take on the go, wherever you are!

vegan protein sources, vegan protein recipes, vegan protein bars, plant protein, vegan snacks, #plantbased #vegansnacks

These snacks are super filling and nutritious, providing you with the macros (good ratio of fat to protein to carbs)needed to sustain energy. I regularly pack these snacks for a busy day on campus or at work.

Make-At-Home

Edamame
I buy packets of frozen edamame from Trader Joe’s and just boil them to prep for the week. Sprinkled with salt or left plain, these are perfect to pop in your mouth when you’re on the go.

Protein Profile-

1 serving size (1 cup) contains 17 grams of protein!

Almonds

Make sure to get your nuts raw. Many packaged nuts are LOADED with salt, additional oils, and even food coloring. Stay away from brands like Blue Diamond and rely on just plain nuts that you can buy in bulk bins!

Protein Profile-

A handful (serving size) of almonds contains 6 g of protein.

Protein Smoothie/Pudding

This one is kinda obvious, but just a friendly reminder that protein smoothies aren’t only good for post-workout recovery! I love having a protein smoothie/pudding as a snack because it is filling and an easy way to get in fruits and veggies!

Protein Profile-

Depends on the brand of protein, but for reference, No Udder Protein has 17g per serving, and the Vega Protein and Greens has 20g per serving.

My favorite protein powders are No Udder Protein and Vega Protein Powder.

There are pros and cons to both- No Udder has a better taste in my opinion, and Vega is more nutritionally dense and contains a higher amount of protein than the original No Udder Protein powder.
