I had always heard about Nike, Under Armour, and Adidas as the primary athletic-wear brands on the market.
As soon as I learned about Ethical Fashion and Fair Trade, though, I realized that the places I had buying my fitness wear from were (likely) not in compliance with the values espoused by these movements.
Fair Labor Accreditation?!
Recently, I was granted the incredible honor to work with a brand as prominent as Under Armour… but I had my reservations about accepting the offer because I was unsure about the ethicality of their production and sustainability practices.
After doing some research, I personally was SHOCKED to find out that Under Armour, this HUGE fitness company that literally everyone knows about, was recently granted accreditation by the Fair Labor Association.

I thoroughly read the Fair Labor Association’s Assessment on Under Armour, learning about the ways Under Armour has set up their business in order to comply with the Fair Labor Association’s Code of Conduct.
Fair Labor Association’s Code of Conduct says:
The FLA Workplace Code of Conduct defines labor standards that aim to achieve decent and humane working conditions. The Code’s standards are based on International Labor Organization standards and internationally accepted good labor practices. Companies affiliated with the FLA are expected to comply with all relevant and applicable laws and regulations of the country in which workers are employed and to implement the Workplace Code in their applicable facilities. When differences or conflicts in standards arise, affiliated companies are expected to apply the highest standard. The FLA monitors compliance with the Workplace Code by carefully examining adherence to the Compliance Benchmarks and the Principles of Monitoring. The Compliance Benchmarks identify specific requirements for meeting each Code standard, while the Principles of Monitoring guide the assessment of compliance. The FLA expects affiliated companies to make improvements when Code standards are not met and to develop sustainable mechanisms to ensure ongoing compliance. The FLA provides a model of collaboration, accountability, and transparency and serves as a catalyst for positive change in workplace conditions. As an organization that promotes continuous improvement, the FLA strives to be a global leader in establishing best practices for respectful and ethical treatment of workers, and in promoting sustainable conditions through which workers earn fair wages in safe and healthy workplaces.
So... What Does This Mean?
To spare you from having to read the entire assessment, I filmed a succint assessment review on my IGTV. This video should help you learn more about what this accreditation means.
My Favorite Pieces
Now that you know a bit about why I chose to accept this sponsorship, I wanted to show you all about my favorite products they sent me!
Shop the Collection!
The UA Rush Bra is a great length- it hits right above the bellybutton and is an in-between of a traditional sports bra and cropped shirt length.
The color I got is this super pretty taupey-mauve shade of purple and it goes super well with all my grey and black leggings.
The bra itself is very compressive and so YOU KNOW your ta-tas won’t be bouncing all over the place during your run in this thing (lol). Perfect for high impact training!
The Hovr Phantom SE shoes are MEGA comfortable. They are perfect for walking/running long distance and fit to your feet SO well.
My favorite thing about the shoe, and the coolest feature in my opinion, is the fact that it is BLUETOOTH ENABLED. You heard me right!!
This shoe pairs with Under Armour’s Map My Run app and you can literally track your mileage in the shoe through the app. How cool is that?!
I hope you learned something new about Under Armour and found some cute pieces from their new collection; I know I did!
Coming soon to the blog AND YouTube is Brand Ethicality Audits- where I create a video report like the one shown in this post reviewing a brand’s practices regarding workforce treatment, safety, sustainability, compensation, and much much more.
Stay tuned for updates!
