Whether you are a full-time student or just trying to pick up a new skill, everyone would like the ability to learn things that little bit faster.
Of course, some people simply have the ability to pick up things easily, but if you don’t, you shouldn’t despair.
There are plenty of simple brain hacks out there which can help you to learn things just a little bit easier and faster. Here are just a few tips which you can put into practice yourself.
Teach Someone Else
Many people think that studying is a very solitary activity, but bringing in someone else to teach them can actually have a big impact on your own learning abilities.
It doesn’t even have to be someone who is highly knowledgeable in the subject area…. you can get a lot from the simple act of working out how to explain things in layman’s terms.
Another way of getting another perspective on your studies is looking into the option to buy research papers to approach the task from a different angle.

Learn in Short Bursts
Extended study sessions which last long into the night are rarely beneficial. In fact, experts recommend that you study for a period of no more than 30 to 50 minutes.
Less than 30 simply isn’t enough to take in anything concrete, while more than 50 is too much for your brain to absorb in a single session.
Once you are finished, you should have a break of around five to 10 minutes before embarking on another session.

Take Notes By Hand
Even though we live in a highly digitised world these days, there is still some value involved in taking notes by hand.
In fact, using a pen and paper helps to slow things down so that you can take things in that little bit easier. Not only this but taking notes on a laptop makes it much easier for you to become distracted by checking your email, social media accounts etc.

If you are in a lecture, studies have shown that people tend to take down their lectures word for word rather than putting things into their own words.
Change Up Your Study Techniques
You are much more likely to enter a mindless mode if you simply repeat the same study tasks again and again.
Instead, you should be looking to switch up your studying techniques to absorb knowledge better. Try to get a little more creative in your study sessions so that you aren’t at risk of switching to autopilot and not taking anything in.
If you find that your study sessions are going nowhere fast, these are a few simple techniques which you can put into practice.
Try each one, in turn, to see how they help out your learning. Ultimately, it is always going to be worth changing up your learning habits until you find out what works best for you.
