Snacking regularly will also help ensure that you don’t overeat later because your body has gone into panic mode at the lack of regular nutrition throughout the day.

We all know we should drink more water but it’s far easier to keep your motivation at peak with a bottomless supply of coffee or carbonated drinks.

As good as they taste and as great as they are at keeping you perky at some point you’re going to end up with a caffeine or a sugar crash and risk getting blinding headaches or being overcome with a tiredness you can’t fight through.

Keep that refillable water bottle topped up and sip your way to a healthier you.

Ditch the training

You can’t do everything and something has to give.

You might love your gym days but if your body is protesting for rest then skip it and take a nap.

Don’t let stress get you

We know this is easy to say but as any lifestyle expert will tell you, feeling stressed and anxious can build and build and all too easily send you seeking urgent care for your more severe symptoms.

If you’re feeling bad, then talk to someone whether that’s a friend, family member of school counsellor, just get it off your chest and take professional advice on finding some tips to reduce your load.

Find your people

Life always seems so much better when you have good friends around you, particularly if they’re going through similar circumstances to you.

Get everyone together and form a sports team for the ultimate team bonding experience as well as encouraging one another to stay on top of their fitness game.

Fitting everything into your student life can feel next to impossible. You have your work, your friends and of course your finances to think about and that’s even before you start thinking about your own wellbeing.

But taking the time to stay healthy isn’t just a vanity it will help propel you through your studies with a clearer mind and make those college years something to remember.
