One of my favorite things to do is explore different ways to be fit around the city!
It can be super expensive to just go around trying different fitness studios, though, which is why I’m super glad to be a part of CHAARG- an organization across many college campuses across the states that seeks to liberate girls from the elliptical and introduce them to fitness studios in the area! I pay $35/month to try one studio a week- I think that’s a pretty dang good deal!
Unfortunately, you cannot be a part of CHAARG if you are not in college. A similar way to try different studios is to try out ClassPass.
ClassPass allows you to try a wide array of fitness studios every week through their own membership program. You don’t have to commit to any one studio, but get to try as many as you please!
Pros:
- Challenging Workout
- Nice facilities
- Full Body Workout

- Lighting
- Not beginner friendly
- A bit hasty instruction
- Pricing

Review- Barry’s reminds me a lot of Orange Theory. They have high paced classes that switch between treadmill/cardio and floor/strength exercises. Everyday the workouts target specific areas so that regular members can get a variety of workouts throughout the week.
I definitely wouldn’t recommend Barry’s for beginners. The speed which they switch from the treadmill to the floor exercises can leave a lot of room for unexperienced gym-goers to get hurt and practice the wrong form.
The lighting in what they call ‘the red room’ is personally quite nauseating, but maybe it’s just me that doesn’t like to workout in the dark lol.
The workout was good, and I definitely was able to challenge myself, but I didn’t love the strength/floor portions of the workout.
Granted, I went at a late class and the instructor might have well been super tired, but the exercises were not thoroughly explained, and I saw many people in the class I was in practice bad form that could lead to injuries.
Pros:
- Challenging Workout
- Wonderful facilities
- Reasonable pricing with first month discount
- Super strong workout community
- Great instructors/coaches
Cons:
- None!
Location – 207 Mcmillin St Nashville TN, 37203

Review- I loved working out at the Fit Factory! The workouts combine strength and endurance training and even incorporate some aspects of a CrossFit style workout.
The instructors are wonderful and really hands on and helpful. I felt like they were invested in my workout, which motivated me to push harder!
The facility itself was beautiful, packed with assault bikes, TRX ropes, a big green space, weightlifting racks, assault Airrunners, and more.
Pros:
- Reasonable pricing
- Community Classes
- Great location
Cons:
- Crowded space
- Some instructors much better than others
Location – 65 Music Square E Nashville, TN 37203
Price-
Community Class= $6/ class, Unlimited classes under an annual contract start at $99/month
Review- Seeing as though I’m not a member, I have only been to community classes. These classes are usually pretty packed, but still provide a really good flow and space to practice yoga.
The studio itself is quite nice, tucked away in the craziness of Music Row.
I love coming here for Sunday community flows, as it is a great way to move on rest days and an ideal way to recenter my mind and body before starting the week!
Pros:
- Decent Workout
- Fun community
Cons:
- Pricing
- Not Full Body Workout
Location – Green Hills, East Nashville, The Gulch
Price-
Unclear on website
Review- Title provides you with a fun hour of HIIT style cardio paired with muscle toning exercises. The instructors seemed to be very helpful and knowledgeable.
It was definitely a fun workout, but personally, I don’t think it’s worth the price of a membership.
Boothcamp
Pros:
- Challenging Workout
- Full Body Workout
Cons:
- Instructors
- Price
- Location and small size of the studio
Location –
801 5th Ave South #101 Nashville, TN 37203
Price-
Per class fee= $22/class, lots of class pack options, Yearly Membership starts at $180/month
Review- The studio is most famously known for its owner, Shawn Booth, who was a contestant on the 11th season of the Bachlorette.
The training style most closely resembles a mix of HIIT and crosstraining.
The workout is challenging, if you put effort into it, but the instructors don’t encourage you the same way as I’ve found in other studios.
Again, this is just not worth the high price for me.
I hope this post was helpful!
As I continue to try more fitness studios in Nashville I will definitely add to this list.
Let me know… where should I try next?!
